As a graphic designer, I’ve created t-shirt designs for others for years. I’ve always thought it would be fun to make a whole line of novelty tee designs on my own — and I’ve finally done it! I’ve combined my artistic talents with my love of the outdoors to come up with a playful selection of comfy shirts for nature-lovers.
Keeping it in the artofrv.com theme, I’m creating shirt designs that express a love of nature, photography, art, and travel. I started with a limited palette so the shirts have a cohesive look to go with the nature-lover motif and gave them an artsy grunge look.
Testing Fit & Fabric
For now, I’m test-marketing the t-shirts on Amazon. This allows me to offer five t-shirt colors for each design and to choose between standard or premium shirt options. Eventually, I will look for a vendor with more shirt color options, but for now, this is a good way to try it all out.
Both the standard and premium shirt options are super soft 100% cotton (except for the heather colors that add in some polyester for some reason). The standard shirts have a classic “looser” fit. The premium shirts are shaped for a slim fit. Both are great quality comfy, soft shirts.
I’m partial to cotton because it’s a natural fabric, controls moisture, and it’s even hypoallergenic. And it’s perfect for summer wear since it draws heat away from our skin. The only downside I’m aware of is that it can shrink and wrinkles a little more easily, but letting cotton t-shirts air dry (or pulling them out of the dryer early to finish drying on a hanger) helps avoid that issue.

More designs are in the works! (We’re working on some photography-related designs next.)
For any little nature-lovers in your life, they make great back-to-school wear that will remind kids of their summer adventures. All the t-shirts in the In My Nature line are colorful, fun and spunky (even a tad snarky, in some cases). In the meantime, we’ll get to work on additional designs for fall-friendly long-sleeved t-shirts, sweatshirts, and hoodies!
Grab some t-shirts now and let us know what you think. (We appreciate feedback — especially in this development phase.) Post photos of yourself, family or friends in them on Twitter or Instagram (preferably in your favorite outdoor location). If you do, use the hashtag #inmynaturetshirts for a chance to win another shirt in the In My Nature line.
